Antiquing Tour
Columbia Borough is fast becoming a destination for antique aficionados. On
Saturday morning, May 6, Rivertownes PA USA is offering an opportunity to visit
all nine antique dealers with transportation provided in a RRTA trolley. Several
shops will open early for the 8:00 AM start. The trolley will make a continuous
loop around the town until 11:30 AM to provide for guests to return to their
cars to drop off purchases. They may then board the trolley to travel to the
next shop of their choice. Stops will be made at four multi-level dealerships
including Partners & Friends, formerly a potato chip factory; Burning Bridge
Antiques, formerly the C.A. Herr Hardware Store; Herr’s Antiques & Collectibles,
formerly Etzweiler Funeral Home; and, Columbia Rivertowne Antiques that is
located in the former Forry Tobacco Warehouse. Other smaller more intimate shops
are Antiques & Accents, Sisters Treasures, the Ladybug Keepers and the Global
Time Wizard. April 20 is the deadline for registrations and may be made by
calling Claire at (717) 684-2489. The $35 registration fee includes a guide,
transportation between the shops, lunch, tax and gratuities.
