Progressive Dinner Tour
The river towns of Columbia, Marietta and Wrightsville are not only known for
their strategic location along the beautiful Susquehanna River but also for
their fine dining opportunities. Rivertownes PA USA, a non-profit organization,
has arranged for a Progressive Dinner Tour on Thursday evening, April 27, 2006.
Using the RRTA trolley, guests will travel with a guide on their epicurean
adventure beginning with hors d’oeuvres in the historic Wrightsville House at
6:00PM. Built in 1806, the double limestone house was once a tavern where many
travelers were fed and lodged. Loreto’s Ristorante in Columbia will be the
second stop on the tour where guests will have a choice of one of four entrees.
Loreto’s beautifully restored restaurant also served as a tavern in its former
life. Finally, the trolley will travel up over Chickies Hill to historic
Marietta’s well-known restaurant, Josephine’s, for dessert. The $75 per person
fee includes a guide, transportation, meal with non-alcoholic drinks, all
gratuities and tax. There are a limited number of reservations. Call Claire at
(717) 684-2489 by April 10 for more information.
